So sorry to hear that you've lost another brother. I was lucky enough to know Tom back in Highschool, and when he signed up for the Army, and then to renew our friendship when I dispatched for the Deptartment. I was able to see the man he had become. I am saddened by the loss of a great guy and send my condolences to all of you in the Dept. along with his family and all the great many other friends I'm sure he had.

I'm annoyed by all the trash on this site lately. Please ask someone to get it off here. I am writing to say how sorry I am to hear Tom Indiano passed today. I knew him when he and Vince worked together. He was a good guy and always nice to myself and my daughters. My prayers go out to his family. Bless all you firefighters. Marg

We are coming up on 1 yr that Bill will be gone. It just doesn't seem possible. We talk about him a lot remembering funny things he said, or what he would have done. It's true that although I'm very sad at times, I also smile thinking of good times we had. How much he would have enjoyed his grandsons. I always loved the Lawrence Welk show and when I'd visit, would ask him to turn to PBS which he would do. Donna and I enjoyed it and I think he secretly did (at least he put up with it) and we'd joke about how we'd be as "old people" and he wondered how he'd manage with the 2 of us! The dept too has been through a lot over this past year. You are always in our thoughts - especially when we hear the sirens blowing.

I will continue to visit enjoyed the reading thanks

As Billy O's sister, I just wanted to say thanks for the blood drive in his memory yesterday. Donna, myself, Kelly, Garett, April,John and baby Anthony were all there. Several of us wore our special t-shirts. It was a memorable day and did us a whole lot of good. Amazingly, we stayed the entire day and chatted with friends and others who came by to donate blood. Both Donna and I got tears in our eyes when we saw Bill's photo on door of City Hall. Kelly did a great job of putting a collage of pictures together. Thanks too, forproviding lunch for us. Six yr old Garett, was such a help. When Priscilla went to donate blood, I covered the sign-in and he came over to help me. He'd ask everyone if they had an appt or were a walkin and where to sign. He'd tell them to read the blue book and to take a chair in line. We would hand out juice or water to people and offered them brownies or cupcakes we had baked. The turnout was very good I understand. All in all a very emotionally satisfying day. Thanks especially to Priscilla and Dan for being there and keeping us informed all throughout the day.

Feb 19 To Chief Cogan and members of Local 343: On February 10, I attended the retirement party at the hall of springs, having been sick and not being able to attend the last 6 years,it was the best party I ever attended since the days of the old Firemens Ball.Iwant to thank all the commitee members, the food and entertainment was great, but the respect and dignity given to all retired members was overwhelming. It was fun sitting with with people I used to work with and laughing and talking about the memories we all had, seeing other retiree's grouped together who worked together, having a good time. It was nice to see the young guys, many who Idon't know, all sitting together making their memories and bonding together. Some guys that I worked with and some that I met, all sitting together getting along shift by shirt, after the trials and tribulations of working and living together 24 hrs.Since attending this party,a pride and spirit that has lain dormant for 12 yrs. was awakened, knowing that once I was a part of the best job and brotherhood that there is. Stay safe Mickey Leone

Thanks to all who said such nice things about my brother, Bill O'Donnell. He loved his job and the people he worked with. When he retired, he would look for me walking to work at Skidmore (out for his morning papers) and look to give me a ride to work. It got to be habit, but one I looked forward to. In those few minutes, we'd chat about what time the cat woke him up that morning, what he bought Garett to play with, or what they would do when he was home from school. What was for dinner and "would you like to come for dinner?" He was taken from us all too soon. Recently, I was looking for something I had bought for Xmas and came upon 2 ornaments I bought back in July at the Hallmark store - it was a cat in a boat fishing. I had bought them to give to Garett & Bill. It hit me so hard - as I didn't expected to find those. What do I do with them now? I have his picture sitting on the shelf with Mom & Dad and our sister, Charlotte Anne(a little angel who died at 2 1/2 months old). Donna and I cook and bring stuff to one another; we've gone shopping togther. Our Thanksgiving was OK, since it worked out nicely to bring Dan home for the day. We started a new tradition at April & John's house and Mother Nature supplied a beautiful scene outside the picture window - snow on the trees. We all wore our tee shirts that you had made up that day and all our pictures show us remembering Bill in a special way. It helped. Only once that day, did I lose it just briefly. We are all still finding our way without his physical presence, but we have him close in our hearts.

My brothers and I need a bit of your assistance this Christmas. 1)Could you please tell me who photographed the fire fighters in the 1983 Anniversary Edition Yearbook / Fire Fighters Ball Program? I am looking for original photo's and / or negatives. 2)Dad has asked Santa for an jacket embroidered with the department patch... coincidently the patch that he and Phil O'Chesky helped design. I would be greatfull if you could mail me a new patch. I will happily reimburse you any expenses. Thank you. Best Wishes. Be Safe. Chris Jones PO Box 4398 Queensbury, NY 12804

I wanted to take a moment to honor my former brother-in-law, Billy O'Donnell. The best way to judge a man is by those who loved and cared for him throughout his life. In that, Bill was a rich man. His legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren and he will remain forever in the hearts of many. I know my family and I join with the many others in the shared sorrow at his death and, to quote his daughter Kelly, my niece, when she told her son of Bill’s death “when Jesus knocked on Papa’s door, he opened the door widely, and let Jesus in. When Jesus asked him to join Jesus in heaven, he did as Jesus asked”. Rest in Peace, Bill Melanie Conners

I would like to say a big thank you to Cpt Jack for showing me around the main fire house when I was on holiday in Saratoga a few weeks ago. I have just started my training in the UK in a district north west of London and it was great to see the different sort of equipment there is in the states. Thanks, I hope you are well and keep safe.
